From January to September this year, Zhongshan attracted 401 new foreign investment projects, of which 321 were funded by investors from Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan regions, accounting for 80.05%.

As of September 2021, Zhongshan is home to over 4,300 foreign-invested enterprises, mainly in manufacturing, business services, real estate, wholesale, retail, and other industries. There are over 3,200 enterprises funded by investors from Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macao regions, accounting for over 85% of the total.

As of September, Zhongshan's foreign investment in actual use totaled US$16.932 billion, of which US$ 12.114 billion came from Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macao investors, accounting for about 70%.

Next, Zhongshan will focus on such emerging industries as next-generation information technology, high-end equipment manufacturing and health and pharmaceutical industry and make requirements for investment projects more accessible. At the same time, efforts will be made to reinforce cooperation with business associations and investment promotion institutions at home and abroad to expand channels for attracting foreign investment.
