With the theme of "Working Together to Build a Clean and Beautiful World", the 2022 World Environment Day Guangdong theme event was held in Zhongshan on June 5 to demonstrate Guangdong's environmental protection achievements in recent years, showcase excellent environmental protection cases, and advocate a green, low-carbon life style.

During the event, the list of "Outstanding Guangdong Enterprises Contributing to the Reduction of Pollution and Carbon Emissions" was released, and plaques and certificates were issued to these enterprises. Among them, 15 enterprises were dubbed "Outstanding Enterprises Contributing to the Reduction of Pollution and Carbon Emission in Guangdong Province" in 2021, and 26 education bases were recognized as "Guangdong Environmental Education Bases" in 2021. Ten people, including Koo Yuen Kim, were named "Zhongshan Eco-friendly Practitioners", and four projects, including the " Shiqi District Biodiversity Project", were recognized as outstanding ecological public welfare projects.

Zhongshan's first children's eco-environmental drama "Elves in Forest" was presented at the event. It expounded on the concept of harmonious coexistence between man and nature.

Previously, Zhongshan has released a promotional video "Working Together to Build a Clean and Beautiful World" to introduce the city's innovations and explorations in pollution and carbon reduction, industrial transformation, water treatment, and etc.
