Zhongshan’s main scenic spots met an evident rise of tourists during the Spring Festival (January 27-February 2). The 48 monitored scenic spots received 1715.6 thousand visits, 9.5% up correspondingly. Zhongshan gained a tourist revenue of 434 million yuan, a 17.30% year-on-year increase.

As a national 5A tourist attraction, Sun Yat-sen’s Hometown received 227 thousand visits during the festival while Sun Yat-sen’s Former Residence – its core spot – received 98.7 thousand visits, 9.67% up and a historical high of the past three years. The main parks were extremely popular during the festival. Sun Yat-sen Memorial Park, for example, attracted 178 thousand visits for its lantern show, 4.71% up. There were 157 thousand visitors who stayed at least one night in Zhongshan. Ecological trips and town visits were gaining popularity. Some new forms of tourism, such as health and industry trips were also popular.
