The unveiling ceremony of Zhongshan Elevator Industrial Base of State Torch Plan was held on 1st November and related national, provincial and municipal leaders were presented.

With more than 40 elevator and supporting enterprises, the elevator industry has developed greatly in south district of Zhongshan in recent years. In 2005, the district became the “Elevator Industrial Base of Guangdong Torch Plan” approved by Science and Technology Department of Guangdong; in 2007, the first elevator professional training center was established in the district; in 2010, Ministry of Science and Technology approved the south district as the “Elevator Industrial Base of State Torch Plan” which was also listed in key construction projects of Guangdong. In addition, the district has signed cooperative framework agreements with Guangdong Institute of Special Equipment Inspection in the areas of technology, research and development, and talents training.

The “Elevator Industry Development Forum of China” was also held on the same day and more than 200 experts and entrepreneurs gathered together to exchange views on development trend and innovation of global and local elevator industries.
