RabPharma, founded by a group of overseas returnees with doctor's degree, has made excellent achievements over the last year since its establishment in Zhongshan's National Health Technology Park, including completing a round of financing of over 60 million yuan and building new product lines.

"We are preparing to build a laboratory, which is expected to be completed in the second half of the year. It will be the largest orthopedic medicine R&D facility in South China. The laboratory will be used for R&D as well as for cooperation with universities and hospitals," said Chen Jiwei, chairman of RabPharma.

RabPharma is a global pioneer in the development of new medicine for bone and joint diseases. The company has a bone and joint regenerative medicine R&D team at the University of California, Davis, led by academicians of the National Academy of Medicine, which has more than 20 years of experience in bone and joint disease medicine research and development. RabPharma's core members have training experience in famous universities and research institutions around the world and work experience in various well-known pharmaceutical enterprises.

RabPharma has built a relatively complete technical platform. The Phase I clinical trial for its first product for the treatment of osteonecrosis has been completed in the United States. Some of its products are also in pre-clinical development stages for the treatment of related bone and joint diseases.

"Last year, RabPharma was the first to be granted a reward for projects settled in Zhongshan's Torch Development Zone. The reward was 5 million yuan." said Yu Conghong, deputy general manager of Zhongshan Health Base Group Co Ltd.

In order to strengthen the support for innovative pharmaceutical enterprises in their early development stages, National Health Technology Park has joined hands with the Torch Development Zone administrative committee to further improve the supporting policies referring to those in areas with well-developed bioengineering and pharmaceutical industry. RabPharma is one of the enterprises benefiting from these policies.
