The commencement ceremony of the CAIQ Greater Bay Area Research Institute and the opening ceremony for the Cosmetics Quality Improvement and Industrial Development Research Lab were held in Torch Development Zone on July 8.
The CAIQ GBA Research Institute is located at the junction of Buyun Road and Huizhan Road East, near the GDIDC Zhongshan Lab and Zhongshan Sub-center of the Guangdong Medical Devices Quality Surveillance and Test Institute. The project, covering a land area of 43.89 mu, will be built by Fortune Global 500 company Guangzhou Municipal Construction Group, with a proposed construction area of 126,000 square meters and a total investment of 784 million yuan.
The CAIQ GBA Research Institute will focus on inspection and testing, standard authentication, food safety, biological medicine, cosmetics safety and efficacy, product environmental impact and safety, dietary nutrition and other fields. Through research on the applied technologies, scientific research and technology innovation, key product development, R&D platform building and cultivation of industrial ecology, it aims to develop a new-type R&D organization with a complete scientific research system, complementary resources, efficient achievement transformation abilities, a flexible operation mechanism and national standard authentication abilities for cosmetics, food and special food and other related fields, so as to boost Zhongshan's economic and social development.
