A meeting on economic situation of Zhongshan in the first quarter of the year were held on April 25 to report the GDPs, industrial investments, investments in industrial technology transformation and investment promotion of the city and towns and districts.

In the first quarter of this year, Zhongshan's GDP stood at 85.795 billion yuan, up 5.9% year on year; the added value of industrial enterprises above the designated size was 34.799 billion yuan, up 4.2% year on year.

Industrial investments surged by 43.1% year on year; the investments in industrial technology transformation, advanced manufacturing and high-tech manufacturing were up 6.1%, 77.1% and 67.7% respectively.

The added value of the primary sector, the secondary sector and the tertiary sector stood at 1.612 billion yuan, 39.390 billion yuan and 44.793 billion yuan respectively, up 7.7%, 5.3% and 6.4% year on year.
