The expos highlight the theme of energy conservation

2012 The 7th China (Zhongshan) Equipment Manufacturing Industry Expo and the 1st Energy Conservation and Environmental Protection and New Energy Industry Expo open at the Torch International Exhibition Center. The expos focus on the theme of industrial upgrading with sophisticated equipment, energy conservation, and green development. Provincial leaders, municipal leaders, Indian and Cuban consuls in Guangzhou attended the opening ceremony.

With an exhibition area of about 20 thousand square meters, the Equipment Manufacturing Industry Expo has 700 standard booths. Most exhibitors are well-known enterprises, such as Mingyang Wind Power, ThyssenKrupp Elevator, Guangzhou Shipyard International Company Limited, Guangxin Shipbuilding & Heavy Industry Co., Ltd., China Railway South Investment & Development Co., Ltd., Broad-Ocean, Xinuo Tech Co., Ltd., Vatti, Chant Group, and so on.

It is reported that the output value of equipment manufacturing industry increased by 19.3% percent on an annual basis during the “eleventh five-year plan” period. The equipment manufacturing industry has become Zhongshan’s pillar industry. By 2011, the number of equipment manufacturing enterprises above the designated size reached 667, and the output industrial value reached 173.364 billion Yuan, up 17.5% over the same period last year, accounting for 30% of Zhongshan’s industrial output value. Linhai industrial park has introduced 38 projects with investment of 60 billion Yuan, and has become an important platform for industrial transformation and upgrade. Energy conservation and new energy industry enjoys more favorable industrial base with an output value of 53.921 billion yuan and strong industrial competitiveness in 2011. It has become one of the most promising industries in Zhongshan as industrial clusters of new lighting source, wind power, core parts of new energy automobile, solar energy, and new energy vehicles.

On the same day, China Guanghua Foundation and Torch Development Zone singed a strategic cooperation agreement together on the same day to carry out cooperation in areas of advanced equipment manufacturing, R&D of new energy and other strategic industries, and commercialization of research findings. China Telecom (Zhongshan) also signed the "Twelfth Five-Year" Cooperation Framework Agreement of Informatization" with Torch Development Zone to better cooperate in application of new information technologies.
