Zhongshan held an expert panel on May 31 to invite leading experts and scholars to deliberate over the Zhongshan Land Space Plan (2020-2035). A representative of document drafting team reported the results of Zhongshan's land plan. After serious discussion, the expert group passed the plan and put forward their own opinions.

The expectations for Zhongshan's future in the next 15 years might all come true through this plan.

Basing on the Wuguishan Mountain and Huolushan Mountain ecological protection areas and Shiqi River, together with natural parks, urban parks, reservoirs and other natural sites, Zhongshan will form an ecological belt stretching from the mountains to the sea.

To build Zhongshan into a transportation hub on the west bank of the Greater Bay Area, a railway network will be constructed to achieve rapid access to major cities across the GBA.

Key word: Platforms

Zhongshan will give priority to the development of the 3 first-class urban functional areas in the GBA, namely Tsuihang New District, Qijiang New Town and Torch Development Zone. Zhongshan will also establish 4 new industrial and technological innovation centers in the GBA, namely Xiangshan New Town, West Industrial Park, North Industrial Park and Zhongshan Cuiheng Science City.

Zhongshan will develop a balanced public service system. Basing on Tsuihang New District, Qijiang New Town and other key areas, Zhongshan will make improvement in such fields as exhibition and expo, cultural creativity, technological innovation, sports and tourism to develop itself into a first-class international dynamic hub within the GBA.
