The expanded Dongsheng Sewage Treatment Plant in Xiaolan Town went operational on the morning of December 18.

Dongsheng Sewage Treatment Plant mainly serves the Dongsheng area excluding Taiping and Guanlan villages. Upon the completion of the expanded part, it is able to treat 100,000 cubic meters of waste water per day, from the previous 30,000 cubic meters.

Zhongshan plans to construct or expand 19 sewage treatment plants by 2025, aiming to increase the city's sewage treatment capacity to over two million tons per day.
