A ceremony was held on the morning of November 12 to commemorate the 157th anniversary of the birth of Sun Yat-sen in his former residence.

The ceremony was attended by city leaders of Zhongshan, Sun Yat-sen's relatives, representatives of democratic parties, associations of industry and commerce and public figures without party affiliation, leaders of government departments and mass organizations, representatives of relevant institutions such as the Sun Yat-sen Research Society, people from Hong Kong and Macao, Taiwan businessmen, Taiwan compatriots and their relatives, overseas Chinese and returned overseas Chinese, as well as teachers and students of Sun Yat-sen Memorial Secondary School and Cuiheng School.

Representatives of over 40 departments and organizations and relatives of Sun Yat-sen offered floral tributes to the portrait of Sun Yat-sen to pay their respect and deep tribute.

On the same day, the Museum of Dr. Sun Yat-sen hosted a series of activities, including the launching and bestowing ceremony of Zhongshan Literatures (Series Ⅲ), the Studies on Dr. Sun Yat-sen and Modern China Outstanding Research Achievements Awards Ceremony, and the opening ceremony of Exhibition of Historical Literatures and Archives of Xiangshan (Zhongshan).

In the afternoon, a concert presented by the Zhongshan Youth Philharmonic Orchestra was held to commemorate the 157th birth anniversary of Sun Yat-sen.

Next, the Museum of Dr. Sun Yat-sen will organize more commemorative activities, including parent-child rice harvesting activities, culture and tourism experience sessions, and research courses on intangible cultural heritage.
