It is because of Zhongshan’s long history, profound culture, historical relics and modern efforts in city construction that Zhongshan is listed as Famous Historical and Cultural City according to the news on the official website of Chinese Government. As required, Guangdong Provincial Government as well as Zhongshan People’s Government should plan it well in general city planning, including details and measures for protection. Especially, efforts should be made to strengthen protection for cultural relics such as the Former Residence of Dr. Sun Yat-sen.
