According to customs office's data, in the first quarter of 2022, Zhongshan's gross value of imports and exports reached 71.99 billion yuan, up 22.3% from a year earlier. The value of exports was 60.41 billion yuan, up 25.8%; while the value of imports was 11.58 billion yuan, up 7.1%.

In the first quarter, Zhongshan's imports and exports by general trade reached 44.03 billion yuan, up 24.5%, accounting for 61.2% of the total imports and exports in the same period.

The imports and exports of foreign-invested enterprises amounted 35.45 billion yuan, up 15.1%, accounting for 49.2%.

Zhongshan's import-export values with the US, EU and ASEAN totaled 15.31 billion yuan, 10.96 billion yuan and 9.08 billion yuan, up 34%, 11% and 33.5% respectively. Trade value with Hong Kong totaled 4.45 billion yuan, down 3.6%; and 4.09 billion yuan with Japan, up 14.3%. In the same period, Zhongshan's imports and exports with Belt and Road countries and other RCEP members totaled 19.61 billion yuan and 17.39 billion yuan, up 36.6% and 24.5% respectively.

The export value of mechanical and electrical products reached 44.24 billion yuan, up 18%, accounting for 73.2% of thes total export value in the first quarter.
