With the theme of "I Love My Home, Studying Zhongshan", the Entering the Beautiful New Countryside Activities ended last Sunday. During the one-month program, 80 local Zhongshan families were led around Shachong in South District, Changzhou in West District, Guinan Village in Wuguishan District, and Lanbian Village in Nanlang Town to learn about the local culture through a combination of games, writings, plays, and workshops.

In Qixi, families picked and ground Luoshen flowers and learned the characteristics of local plants in Wuguishan Mountain. At Shachong in South District, families went to Ma Zaiming Memorial Hall to learn about the rise of four major department stores and experience performances about the gallant spirit of the Ma's Spear. In Changzhou Village, families learned about the migration of clans at the Huang's Ancestral Hall and listened to stories at Yanzhou Academy. At Lanbian Village, families studied  the Dragon Boat Ridge and Wok Gable at Chen's Ancestral Hall. Parents and children enjoyed various day-to-day courses and became immersed throughout the activity series.

It is said that next year, the program will reach out to other towns and districts to lead more families to learn about the new looks of Zhongshan's villages.
