The Guangdong Provincial Association for Science and Technology and the Department of Science and Technology of Guangdong Province jointly released the proposed list of "Guangdong Science Education Bases" for 2022-2026. Zhongshan Arboretum is the only organization from Zhongshan making the list.
Zhongshan Arboretum, covering an area of 1,674 mu, is the first public welfare park in China arranged by phylogenetic sequence of plants. It integrates such functions as scientific research, science education, germplasm gene conservation, ecological tourism and leisure activities.
Since opening, Zhongshan Arboretum has gradually become a popular place for Zhongshan citizens to learn about nature, relax and do exercises. It receives more than 2 million tourists every year.
