"From September 20, Zhongshan trademark applicants no longer have to go to other cities; they can handle the procedures in Zhongshan," said Xu Ningjun, Director of Zhongshan Administration for Market Regulation, who released the news to the media on September 19.

The acceptance window for trademark registration undertaken by Zhongshan Administration for Market Regulation is the 192nd service window set up by the Trademark Office of National Intellectual Property Administration. It will officially handle trademark registration procedures from September 20.

The acceptance window is set at counter B14 and B15 of Zhongshan Public Service Center. It can handle 24 trademark application procedures including trademark registration applications and 5 pledge businesses such as registration of pledge of exclusive right to use trademarks.

In the first half of 2019, a total of 159,700 valid trademarks have been registered in Zhongshan. By the end of August 2019, there were about 405,900 market entities in Zhongshan, with an average of one registered trademark for every 2.5 market entities.
