Beginning this weekend, colleges and universities in Zhongshan will welcome new students. This summer, Zhongshan's five colleges and universities admitted about 13,000 freshmen.

UESTC, Zhongshan Institute and Guangdong Pharmaceutical University (Zhongshan Campus) enroll batches of undergraduate students. This year, UESTC, Zhongshan Institute admits 5,091 students nationwide while Guangdong Pharmaceutical University (Zhongshan Campus) admits 1,084. Statistics show that UESTC, Zhongshan Institute has admitted more high-scoring candidates than last year.

This year, College of Electronic Information and Computer College of UESTC, Zhongshan Institute both implement a wide-range enrollment; students are admitted before choosing their majors. Statistics show that the first choice rate of each enrollment category exceeds 100%, and the enrollment score has also significantly improved compared with previous years.

The four "2+2 Joint Training Programs" between UESTC, Zhongshan Institute and UESTC (Communication Engineering, Electronic Science and Technology, Computer Science and Technology, Automation) are popular among the examinees, with an average first choice rate of 538%.

Zhongshan Polytechnic, Zhongshan Torch Polytechnic and Guangdong Polytechnic Institute enroll students in the batch of junior college. The three colleges has admitted about 7,000 students in the College Entrance Examination (summer).

The majors with "Junior College-university Cooperation Program" are popular among the examinees. For instance, Zhongshan Polytechnic has cooperated with undergraduate colleges and universities in recent years, adding 6 majors, namely, Business Management, Electrical Automation Technology, Mold Design and Manufacturing, Product Art Design, Clothing and Apparel Design, and Animation Production Technology in addition to the original Electronic Information Engineering Technology. A total of 7 majors have carried out "3+2 Years Collaborative Training Programs" with undergraduate colleges and universities.
